Ignore the side-eye from your boss: A quick walk around the office every hour will be a benefit in the long run.

A study in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity reports that short walks spread throughout the day can fight off drowsiness and hunger pangs—and buoy your mood.

The health concerns over sitting have been well-noted, so this news comes as an added reason to get up and move around. And certainly it’ll be less expensive than one of those treadmill desks.
