“What do you think is the most important thing that could be done to help people living in your community?”
That’s what the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation and the Community Foundation of Collier County want to know.
Those organizations have spearheaded a comprehensive study of the gaps between residents’ needs and the available social services in Collier County. The study, conducted by the Miami-based Q-Q Research Consultants, will drill down to a neighborhood-by-neighborhood level. The anonymous questionnaire touches on everything from the accessibility of basic needs (health care, housing and living wage jobs) to the prevalence of amenities such as parks and cultural activities.
The final push to gather responses is on. The data will help drive nonprofit and civic decision-making.
“Every voice matters in terms of making a difference in the community. If you tell us what you think, what you know, we can make changes for the better,” says Mary Beth Geier of the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. “Without getting the feedback and voices of people, we can’t make informed decisions.”
