BY January 13, 2017

So, you’re not attending the Naples Winter Wine Festival later this month, but you really want to help Collier County’s needy children. That is what the festival is all about, after all.

Now’s your chance. The festival’s online auction starts on Jan. 16 and runs through Jan. 31, giving the general public 16 days to bid on fabulous prizes.

The packages, which are exclusive to the online auction, range from wine collections to travel adventures. The offerings include:

  • A week in a three-bedroom luxury cottage at Linville Ridge in the North Carolina mountains.
  • Dinner with the famed Mondavi family at their private home, with the opportunity to take home wines that have not yet been released to the public.
  • A night with internationally revered Chef Francis Mallmann, who will treat six guests to dinner at his restaurant, 1884, in Mendoza, Argentina.
  • A Gator game—luxury style with access to the President’s Club, private parking and a meet-and-greet with Florida State University President John Thrasher.
  • An Everglades airboat expedition with an ecologist and Miccosukee guide and a picnic lunch for eight.

“The Online Auction has a fantastic variety of lots, showcasing wonderful local businesses, great wines, food and adventures that cannot be equaled,” said Bill Cary, co-chair of the 2017 Naples Winter Wine Festival. “This is a way to welcome the whole community into the excitement of the Festival’s famed auction, making it possible for everyone who believes in our mission to help improve the lives of underprivileged children.”

Proceeds from the entire festival benefit the Naples Children & Education Foundation, the Naples Winter Wine Festival’s founding organization. NCEF’s annual grants have assisted more than 200,000 Collier County children by providing medical, dental, educational and other services. Bidders at the Online Auction can also make a direct donation to support NCEF’s work through this year’s Fund a Need, which focuses on Children's Healthcare.
