What We're Drinking: Poison Punch Margarita at Masa

BY October 14, 2016

Tricks (and treats) are not just for kids. Proof of that can be found at Masa in Naples, where an annual Dia de Los Muertos party goes south of the border and long on revelry. The restaurant has us under its spell with its seasonal cocktails, and brandishing one at your own Halloween fiesta is as easy as the flick of a wand.

Poison Punch Margarita

1 1/2 ounce tequila, preferably Maestro Dobel Diamante

1/2 ounce triple sec

3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

1/2 ounce cranberry juice

1/4 ounce grenadine

Black lava salt, for garnish

Lime peel, for garnish

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Mix well and pour into a lowball glass garnished with black lava salt and a lime twist.

Note: For spooky effects, consider buying glow-in-the-dark ice cubes or using dry ice (some supermarkets sell it in 1-pound cubes) to chisel tiny slivers into drinks and make them brim with fog.
