The Luminary Hotel & Co. ’s signature upscale restaurant debut ed Nov. 12 in downtown Fort Myers. The Silver King Ocean Brasserie offers a menu showcasing fresh seafood through clean, simple preparations using classic techniques for a modern palate, the hotel announced.
The coastal-inspired dinner menu has about a dozen items each for both the “Beginning” and “Middle” of the meal with a separate dessert menu for a sweet ending. Appetizers include salads, East Coast oysters, stone crab, a pork ad fig terrine, marinated charred octopus and a seven-minute duck egg with caviar. Entrees include sea scallops, seared cobia, fresh angel hair pasta with Key West shrimp, Alaskan halibut, braised pork, chicken roulade, A5 Japanese beef and dry-aged prime New York strip steak.
The hotel promotes the new dining spot as the place to raise a glass. “Celebrate a special occasion or simply the fact that you’re with friends. Our signature restaurant extends a gracious invitation every night. You’ll feel comfortable with the after-work crowd, or kicking back casual in jeans. Any reason is the perfect reason to dine with us. Walk in and fit right in , ” its website promises.
Centered on an open kitchen, the 60-seat restaurant features 40 additional outdoor seats and a décor that includes modern elements such as a flowing silver and copper artwork installation inspired by the restaurant’s namesake, the “Silver King” Atlantic tarpon, as well as silver accents, rich woods, marble and velvet.
