Who says social media killed social interaction? The people behind Gather beg to differ. With #gather painted on the walls of their new hot spot that’s open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and pretty much everything until midnight, they are hoping online chatter will translate into people congregating for cocktails, glasses of wine and the globally influenced dishes of chefs Fabrice Deletrain and Benjamin Voisin (of the acclaimed Fathoms). We’re all about sliding into a table overlooking Tarpon Point Marina and waking up with their haute, cheeky play on crab cake Benedict. Lobster is the star here, with eggs poached by sous vide—and a Key lime-cilantro hollandaise. Lunch and dinner offer more of the same deceptively complex yet familiar comforts, like a burger with brûléed goat cheese and compressed tomato and chipotle-glazed duck wings alongside tropical fruit salsa. There’s plenty of space, of course, to gather—and dig in.
