Vinyl records cover the walls, tunes from the Ramones, The Beatles and Van Halen waft through the speakers (or are live on weekends)—and you can get your game on at three pinball machines. As its name implies, Public House is the kind of rollicking place with haute gastropub fare and pitch-perfect cocktails, wine and beer. While there are tons of dishes to share at lunch and dinner, like garlicky chips with caramelized onion dip and soft pretzels flecked with Maldon sea salt, an entrée you’ll want for yourself is the roasted chicken. It’s not just any half-bird, but one whose cavity has been stuffed with beer and fennel so the meat soaks up all the juice. The eatery also has a relationship with the new Bone Hook Brewery next door, so you can knock it back with whichever of their microbrews is on tap.
