I t took 20 years and three eateries, but downtown Neapolitans finally have their own place for grilled oysters, coastal pan roasts and hot-saucy Nashville chicken, courtesy of restaurateur Peter Tierney. His team’s latest venture, The Claw Bar in the Bellasera Hotel, is fashioned in dramatic strokes of gold and black. Mirroring the décor, the expertly made cocktails are classic but with a glam, modern twist. The Pom Collins mixes the requisite gin (artisanal and organic from Death’s Door) with a swirl of lemon and fizzy water; the surprise comes from a splash of pomegranate liqueur, putting the “Pom” in this wonderful libation.
