In a town where most holiday lights are up well before Thanksgiving, you can definitely say Neapolitans are never remiss in celebrating.
An annual tradition that seems particularly relevant this year is the Charles Dickens Festival at The Dock at Crayton Cove. The restaurant, which was half-obliterated by Hurricane Irma, bounced back with miraculous speed, and it is carrying on one of its treasured nights.
Grab a table from 4:30 p.m. onward on Saturday, Dec. 16, and you’ll be treated to wait staff in Victorian yuletide costumes; A Christmas Carol on TVs throughout the restaurant; and the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future wandering around and regaling diners as they dig into the evening’s specials, like turducken and “bah humbug” bisque. (The regular menu will be available, too.)
