BokampersspikedStrawberryLemonade
People here barely need an excuse to raise a glass—hedonism is never out of style in many Southwest Floridians’ perma vacation-mode. But this month there really is a good reason to round up some friends and get a little crazy with some cranberry and a lot of vodka. To honor October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, restaurants and bars are unrolling special promos with proceeds going to various groups. Here are our picks.
Where: The Jac (Sanibel)
What: Pretty in Pink with Tito’s vodka, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, cranberry juice, fresh mint and basil
How: 50 percent of all sales from the $13 cocktail will be given to Partners for Breast Cancer Care
Fun fact: This is part of a wider “The Jac Gives Back Initiative” with three other charitable drinks in the mix on an ongoing basis.
Where: Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill (Naples, Estero)
What: Frosé and Strawberry Lemonade cocktails, with the frozen rosé blended with rosé vodka and mint and the other mixing vodka, lemon sour, lemon-lime soda and fresh berries
How: $1 from every drink will go to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center of University of Miami Health System
Fun fact: This Florida-based chain of bars was founded by Kim Bokamper, a former linebacker on the Miami Dolphins, and they’re super-popular game day spots.
Where: Sea Salt, Barbatella, Dorona (Naples)
What: “Pink Drinks”: Sea Salt’s pink prosecco, Barbatella’s bellini and Dorona’s Rosa 75 (house-infused strawberry gin with St-Germain, prosecco and lemon juice)
How: $1 per glass will be donated to Neighborhood Health Clinic to fund breast cancer screenings for uninsured women in Collier County
Fun fact: The Aielli Group that owns the three restaurants is encouraging people to make independent donations by going directly to this link (and writing “Drink 4 Pink” in the comment field).
