Naples Botanical
Thankfully, it is not a secret garden—but brunch at Fogg Café may very well be Naples Botanical Garden’s best-kept secret.
Unveiled last year, the weekend meal proved a perfect reason to plan an alfresco outing at one of our town’s top cultural sites and its little-known yet dependable eatery that caters to food lovers.
The menu will be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (the café closes during the week in the off-season, but grab-n-go items are available at the gift shop Tuesday to Thursday). It started June 1 and will run through Sept. 2, and included among the featured items are temptations like mango-passion fruit mimosas; cinnamon-sugar beignets (right) to be dunked in dulce de leche; and an egg scramble with fried matzo capped with a Mediterranean salad of ripe tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, fresh mint and a dusting of sumac.
Garden admission is required for a meal, but it’s a small price to pay to be able to eat in the lush greenscape—and have the opportunity to explore the grounds after a memorable meal.
