Now it’s time to kick back ( or rev up, however you view it) and show your support for the dozens of Naples and Marco Island restaurants offering unbeatable prix fixe menus with three or more courses for $25 or $35 through Wednesday, June 14. You can browse all of them on the fortnight’s official website—and note that some have optional add-ons, like wine pairings (Catch 41 Bar and Grill, El Gaucho Inca Bistro, The Local, True Food Kitchen) and extra courses (Lamoraga, Mediterrano, Zen Asian BBQ).
It’s also hands-down the best time of the year to take in our area’s big-ticket dining experiences, where entrées alone can easily run north of $35. The Continental is offering a taste of its greatest hits (I was in heaven with the iconic baked ricotta, a petite filet mignon with an optional lobster tail for $15 and an insanely rich chocolate raspberry truffle pie that I am still thinking about). Its neighbor a few doors down, Sea Salt, unleashed a tide of creativity, writing a menu especially for the occasion.
Cram in as many visits as you can before the June 14, but don’t worry if you can only check off one or two places on your list—the next fortnight will be upon us sooner than we know it (Nov. 30 to Dec. 13). And by then, Fort Myers will be in on the action, too.
