If Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, it means one thing for the restaurant-obsessed: the return of summer deals (can I get a collective “Yay!”?). While these steals come in all serving sizes and courses, I’ll highlight a personal favorite to usher in the season. At BrickTop’s, you fortunately don’t have to be that early of an early bird to benefit from the $18 menu. From 3-7 p.m. every day until the end of September, you can get a starter salad, an entrée (the list includes the ever-excellent lemony parmesan-crusted chicken) and a non-alcoholic beverage. Considering most main dishes are $20-plus, and the Caesar salad alone is worth trying—the herb-flecked, perfectly crunchy croutons are some of the best in town—it’s hard to find a better excuse to slide into one of the patio tables. And if you haven’t been since they tweaked the regular menu a little while back, definitely throw in a new appetizer or two, like the short rib tacos, cleverly held together with adorable tiny clothespins, that taste, surprisingly, almost like a banh mi in a bite.
