TASTEOFTHECAPE
Like how Brooklyn has become a dining destination unto itself in New York, a similar dynamic has taken hold on our shores. Once considered a no-fly zone for diners on a mission for a four-star meal, Cape Coral has emerged as the place of the moment, a breeding ground for mom-and-pop establishments dishing out commendable and dependably inventive cuisine. This Sunday, March 1, from noon until 6 p.m., a Taste of the Cape at Four Freedoms Park will let festivalgoers sample from more than 20 restaurants, including all-stars like Fathoms, Blaze Bistro and Slate’s. Admission is free, and you can buy tickets for food and drink (wines, craft beers and margaritas) on site, but, most importantly, you need to bring your appetite.
