Finding the right podcast or playlist can make a workout go by in no time. But once you hit play, please, just keep your hands off your phone.
A study in Performance Enhancement & Health showed that fiddling on your phone can wreck your workout. Texting on the phone basically threw joggers off balance about 45 percent of the time. Even just talking on the phone threw off balance at about 20 percent. However, listening to music had no impact.
We know it’s hard, but you can go for a little bit without texting. It’s worth avoiding a rolled ankle or a nasty trip-and-fall.
