A healthy relationship may also be keeping your heart in good health. A new study published in Heart found that, compared to singles, married people were at a much lower risk of cardiovascular disease and coronary artery disease and also were less likely to die from a stroke or other heart problem. The data come from an analysis of more than 30 studies that involved millions of people. The trend is certainly interesting, but the reasons are a little less clear. Could it be that married couples are more in tune with each other’s health and more likely to notice if something is going wrong? Or, could the dual incomes mean better health care? Hard to tell.
