Those with wealth may not feel any happier overall than those without it. But they may feel a little bit better about themselves. A study published in Emotion surveyed about 1,500 people of diverse economic standing. The high earners tended to have stronger feelings of contentment, pride and amusement than those in the lower income brackets. Essentially, they felt higher levels of self-esteem. Interestingly enough, those with less money tended to feel higher levels of love and compassion.
