An award-winning architectural interior designer from Naples was selected to participate in a new HGTV series, “Table Wars,” kicking off at 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov.13. With more than 30 years of experience, Wilfredo Emanuel was chosen among thousands of contestants for the show, a seven-episode series featuring eight designers competing to create the best-themed dining environment. The winner will be chosen by domestic diva Martha Stewart and New York event planner Chris Hessney.
“I’m thrilled to have been selected for such an exciting show and bring my event design ideas to life on a national stage,” said Emanuel in a news release. “For more than 30 years, I have specialized in space planning, color coordination and design, and this opportunity underscores my passion for design, color and detail. In addition to highlighting my love for design, I’m excited to shine the spotlight on Southwest Florida and the talent we have here in Naples.”
Emanuel, who founded Wilfredo Emanuel Designs in 2019, works hand in hand with architects from the inception of a design and details such as ceilings, walls and lighting, to the completion of the project’s minutia. In addition to interior design, he designs events, including everything from the invitation and fabric of the curtains and tablecloths to the centerpieces, special effects and lighting.
Born in Puerto Rico, Emanuel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design at the Instituto de Banca y Comercio in San Juan. During his college years, he studied abroad in London, where he was introduced to the European culture and its unique architectural designs. Upon graduation, he continued his interior design studies at the Instituto di Disegno in Milan, Italy, where he learned to embrace the elements of classic design, tools which he has implemented through this career. After living and working in Italy for seven years, Emanuel returned to the United States to further hone his skills at the Academy of Design in Orlando, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He has been working in Naples for more than 10 years.
