The Naples Winter Wine Festival this week named its 2016 chairs and announced the event’s theme, “Great Expectations.”
Tom and Sandi Moran are returning to co-chair the festival and will be joined by Jim and Laura Dixon. They are all trustees of the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF), the nonprofit that administers and oversees the festival’s proceeds, which support the physical, educational and emotional lives of Collier County’s at-risk children.
The Morans, well-known area philanthropists, are the first couple to co-chair the event two years in a row.
The 2016 festival will be held Jan. 29-31, 2016, at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples. Organizers dubbed it “Great Expectations” in anticipation of the world-class wine, food and auction items to be featured there, as well as for the promise of raising millions more for local children.
“Our remarkable co-chairs bring a wealth of experience, creativity and passion to everything they do, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2016,” Maria Jimenez-Lara, chief executive officer of NCEF, said in a statement. “The money raised at the Naples Winter Wine Festival has a lasting impact on the children who need our help the most. We couldn’t do what we do without the talents and resources of our co-chairs and trustees.”
Since its inception in 2001, the Naples Winter Wine Festival has raised more than $135 million for the foundation, which has awarded grants to more than 40 nonprofit organizations that have impacted the lives of more than 200,000 children.
