Pita, shawarma, grape leaves—yes, please! By December 2017, we will be able to eat all of that and then some at Kareem's Lebanese Kitchen.
This new entrant to the Naples dining scene is just 3 miles from the dining epicenter of Fifth Avenue South, nestled in the same plaza on Tamiami Trail East as the widely acclaimed modern Indian restaurant 21 Spices by Chef Asif.
With no fewer than seven options for hummus on the preliminary lunch and dinner menu, along with fattoush, falafel, meze, wraps and composed entrées in the $20 range (like lamb with yogurt, chickpeas, pine nuts and pomegranate), the eatery will be both authentic and affordable. There will be wine and beer—and also the occasional belly dancer—as chef and co-owner Rachid Eido, who has traveled and cooked throughout the Middle East, wants to introduce us to his years of expertise in the kind of relaxed and inviting setting that we’ve come to know and love. The particulars of this one are reminiscent of Beirut, with golden bistro chairs, reflective copper panels and hanging lanterns to boot.
