After 30 years in the fine estate jewelry, bridal and timepiece business, Provident Jewelry gives its Naples shop on Fifth Avenue South a luxurious facelift.
Inspired by crystal-draped cocktail lounges like those at New York’s Baccarat Hotel, the shop doubles in size to 6,000 square feet, with a redesign by Fort Lauderdale-based ID & Design International, when it reopens in December.
The marble-clad Champagne bar allows shoppers to leisurely sip while admiring jewelry from houses like Chopard and Cartier, as well as the expanded selection of bespoke beauties that range in price up to $25 million. For more private perusing, a discreet, curtain-enclosed corner room serves as a space for personal shopping.
With major upgrades at Waterside Shops and Provident Jewelry and new independent boutiques, there are plenty of reasons to get out and shop.
Stylish Debuts: Waterside Shops Goes a Step Above
Big changes are afoot at the luxe outdoor shopping center. Yamron Jewelers built out its estate fine jewelry-focused arm, Maison Yamron; Ralph Lauren debuted an expanded location; Kendra Scott (which has a build-your-own jewelry bar) and casual-chic women’s retailer Evereve opened new outposts; and Gucci remodeled its 5,000-square-foot boutique.
Next up—after years of hopeful whispering among fashion lovers—Hermès returns to Waterside Shops in late 2022. The brand recently signed a lease for the 5,000-square-foot space that previously housed Ralph Lauren. Score one for Naples fans looking for its famously hard-to-acquire, cultish, croc and exotic leather goods. —Kristine Gill
In Gear: Luxury dealerships flock to the area
We Southwest Floridians have a slight obsession with shiny cars, and we’re firing on all cylinders for these splashy announcements. First up, Naples Motorsports (the country’s top dealer for exotic British Lotus cars) plans to open a second location next year along Airport-Pulling Road, where you’ll find more rare rides like the limited edition Rimac Nevera, priced at a cool $2.5 million.
Meanwhile, Lamborghini fans won’t have to trek across Alligator Alley to Miami or up to Sarasota to admire the latest models thanks to the proposed dealership at the Shops at Hammock Cove in East Naples.
Life gets a little easier for Naples’ Tesla owners, too, with a service center coming to the corner of Airport-Pulling and Pine Ridge Roads, cutting out the trip to the Fort Myers dealership for repairs. Keep an ear out for announcements on opening dates. —Justin Paprocki
Wild Style: Handbags for the Everglades
This month, The Everglades Foundation rolls out a collection of clutches by Rhode Island-based designer Kent Stetson printed with snapshots of the ecosystem by National Geographic photographer Mac Stone.
Stetson—who has designed custom clutches for celebrities, including Martha Stewart and Iris Apfel—created the bags with sustainability in mind using vegan leather.
Six designs (including landscapes, alligator teeth and the elusive ghost orchid) are available on Stetson’s website and at Bruno on Naples’ Third Street South—with 50% of proceeds from each bag benefiting The Everglades Foundation’s restoration efforts. —Jaynie Bartley
