Ed Anderson has fished around the world, from the rivers near his Idaho home to the waters off Cuba. After he fishes, he draws. His fishing illustrations have appeared in art galleries and on the covers of Gray’s Sporting Journal. Lately, he’s been experimenting with a new style—a hybrid of illustration and journaling. (If you're on Instagram, be sure to follow him for his latest adventures.) One of his favorite fishing spots is right here in Southwest Florida: Sanibel Island. He’s been fishing there since he was a boy and as part of our August issue, documented a trip for us when he was visiting the area.
