It’s been a while in the making, and Fort Myers is more than ready to welcome Society—the restaurant everyone’s been waiting on for more than two years.
And there’s good reason for us to be excited. It recently opened in its Bell Tower Shops berth and is delivering on what it promised and more.
Chef Todd Erickson (pictured), who has made a name for himself in every city that’s been graced with his presence, has spent the better part of the last decade in Miami, cooking up a storm with Haven, Huahua’s Taqueria and GLAM Plant Based Cuisine. While the latter two are still open, he’s spending most of his time these days in the City of Palms, launching this project that spanned several years and combined several leases into a sprawling dining room with indoor and outdoor seating. It features his modern American cuisine on a wood-fire grill as seen through a seasonal lens. The rooftop, which has an herb and vegetable garden, doubles as the “Treehouse,” a whimsical greenspace where people can sit and sip Society’s unique cocktails on lounge furniture, gather around a fire pit or catch a warm breeze.
We were expecting nothing less from someone who came out victorious this year from an appearance on the Food Network show Beat Bobby Flay—and we’re happy we finally get a chance to try his winsome recipes in Fort Myers.
