Miracle Fireworks 07/03/2016
Fourth of July falls right in the middle of the week this year. So, instead of claiming it as part of a long weekend, let's just declare the whole week a holiday. With that in mind, here's how to spend your entire holiday week in Naples.
Sunday: Get into the July 4 mood with some patriotic tunes down at the Center for the Performing Arts Bonita Springs with its Musical Moments: Red, White and Blue.
Monday: The "How Caribbean Sugar Helped George Washington Win Independence" seminar at Shell Point will be a unique take on the holiday.
Tuesday: Start the holiday early with one of Southwest Florida's hottest bands, The Freecoasters, at Backstreets on the Cape.
Wednesday: The Fourth is here! Head out to Fort Myers Beach for its parade at 10 a.m. Freedom Fest starts in downtown Fort Myers at 4 p.m. Red, White and Boom Cape Coral starts at 5 p.m. Then, it's fireworks galore. A couple unique ways to enjoy the show: Pure Florida offers a fireworks cruise along the Caloosahatchee River; the Fort Myers Miracle are home at Hammond Stadium and host post-game fireworks.
Thursday: If you can, wake up early and head out to Bunche Beach, Sanibel Causeway Islands or Lynn Hall Memorial Park for the annual Keep Lee County Beautiful Morning After Mess Beach Clean-up Day.
Friday: The party returns to downtown. Head to the Fort Myers Art Walk starting at 6 p.m.
Saturday: Catch the last weekend for the annual Miromar Outlets Independence Day Sale.
