More evidence is coming out that dairy fats may not be as bad as we think.
A new study published in Circulation found that the fats in dairy like milk, cheese or yogurt might actually help protect against Type 2 diabetes. The study showed only a correlation but did find that the participants who ate more of the dairy fats were at a 50 percent lower risk for diabetes.
As NPR notes, this study is just another on the pile showing the potential benefits of things like whole milk. Previous research found that children who consumed more dairy fat tended to weigh less as they grew older. The thought is that people may be filling up quicker and eating fewer high-carb or sugary foods.
