She’s particularly fond of Big Ass Fan’s Haiku H Series, available in 52-, 60-, and 84-inch diameters and handcrafted from sustainable Moso bamboo. The award-winning fans feature a silent motor, use one-third of the energy of traditional fans and replace pull cords with SenseME technology, environmental sensors that whirl into action when someone enters the room. “These are innovative high-tech fans for the home,” Owens says. “I use the bamboo version in my high-end houses—perfect for the tropical modern look I specialize in.”
