Stock Development & Pizzazz Interiors: Chair by Lucy Penfield
Gulfshore Life’s Chairs for Charity highlights Stock Development and Pizzazz Interiors’ bold creation by Lucy Penfield, who embraced a “vintage luxury” vision where coastal meets Mod. She transformed a classic fan chair with high-gloss black lacquer, then added a decorative accent cord for a sassy pop of color—a glamorous, modern twist she imagines her Ritz-Carlton clients would love for a touch of flair in their new space.
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT Q&A
Where did you find the vintage chair?
Locally sourced on Facebook Marketplace
What were the materials used to redesign the chair?
High gloss black lacquer and specialty fabric from local textile mill.
Where did you find the inspiration for your chair design?
Vintage Luxury , where coastal meets Mod. We loved the idea of finding a classic fan chair and dolling it up with high-gloss black lacquer! A decorative accent cord adds a sassy pop of color. Something that our Ritz-Carlton clients would love to have for a little flair in their new residence.
What was the process of designing and putting together the chair?
High in personality and fun, we love to hit a high note with the unexpected! Sourcing a fabric and trim combination that was whimsical and partnering with our favorite workroom to recover the cushion. Scheming up a memorable style for the fan-chair with one of our talented furniture delivery guys who moonlights as an artist to work his magic! What’s not to love. A lot of flair + all local!
How would you incorporate your chair into a space?
The perfect “Queen for a Day” chair in the foyer as a welcome statement, or a flashy pull-up chair in the lounge to sip an evening cocktail.
