The concert begins with Handel’s majestic Chaconne in G Major, followed by the profound beauty of Brahms’ Six Chorale Preludes, Op. 122. The lyrical charm of Kreisler’s Liebesleid and Liebesfreud adds a touch of romance while Verdi’s Miserere du Trovatore and Danza sacra e duetto finale d’Aida highlight the dramatic and operatic grandeur of Verdi’s melodies. The evening concludes with three movements from The Firebird, capturing the dynamic and vibrant spirit of Stravinsky’s iconic ballet. This performance promises an evening of golden virtuosity, revealing the piano’s extraordinary ability to convey the essence of orchestral and operatic masterpieces.

Anna Geniushene

Anna Geniushene’s fresh, layered and powerful interpretations defined her participation at the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition — and won her the coveted silver medal and the adoration of fans and critics around the globe.

Accolades ensued, and invitations from well-respected institutions followed. Recent and upcoming engagements are highlighted by debut recitals for Washington Performing Arts at the Kennedy Center, Wiener Konzerthaus and the Bravo! Vail and Grand Teton Music Festivals; debut concerts at Tonhalle Zurich and Stadtcasino Basel, replacing Daniel Barenboim in recital; and collaborations with the Taipei and Lithuanian Symphony Orchestras, conductors Gábor Takács- Nagy, Eliahu Inbal and Miguel Harth-Bedoya; and pianists Wu Han and Dmytro Choni. She joins the Bowers Program of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center roster in 2024-27.

Geniushene made her recital debut in the small hall of the Berliner Philharmoniker at age 7. She has since developed a diverse and versatile career as an artist, with performances in major venues across the globe; appearances with numerous famed conductors, including Marin Alsop, Edward Gardner and Arvo Volmer; and a dedication to chamber music.

Geniushene graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she completed her master’s degree with distinction, and she earned her advanced diploma from London’s Royal Academy of Music. Also an enthusiastic teacher, she teaches master classes, adjudicates competitions and served as an assistant professor at the Moscow Conservatory until 2022.
