Aztec Dancers: A Living Tradition by Lisette Morales
to
Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch 1215 Roberts Ave. W., Immokalee, Florida 34142
Naples photographer Lisette Morales spent a year and a half documenting the Navarro family’s four-year local legacy of performing Danza Azteca Guadalupana, a culturally significant dance performed between Día de los Muertos and Three Kings Day. Now, the artist introduces her photo exhibition—on view through January 31—as a way to celebrate ceremonial practices and handcrafted garments while uplifting voices from migrant and Indigenous communities.
