Blessing of the Stone Crab Fleet at Camellia Street Grill

Hundreds of onlookers and dozens of family-run crabbing boats descend on the Barron River to commemorate the first day of stone crab season. The morning ritual, which began as a midnight gathering among friends in 2007, has grown into a community-wide event featuring live music and a pastor-led blessing for the vessels that support a staple of Southwest Florida’s foodways and way of life.
