Tribby Arts Center opens newest art exhibition, “Ripples”. Now on display through July 19, the newest art exhibition in Tribby Arts Center is a celebration of paintings, with 87 works of art by the members of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association on view. Along with the works of FMBAA members, “Ripples” presents sculptures by well-known artist Tania Begg of Punta Gorda.
In this visually dense and engaging exhibition, many FMBAA members explore the creative possibilities that the theme “ripples” suggests, from ripples moving across the water to those suggested in the strains of music. The original works on display represent a wide range of media, including oil, watercolor, pastel, and more. The subject matter is widely diverse, including both figurative and abstract works. The former includes stunning seascapes, landscapes, florals, portraits, and more.
The work of award-winning, multi-media artist Tania Begg includes abstract acrylic paintings, fine jewelry, and sculptures. The latter includes works of hand-painted, laminated tissue paper as well as glass- and gemstone-beaded sculptures. “Ripples” encores Begg’s popular and award-winning works that have not been seen for some time in the region, and it includes a new sculptural creation, Leoma the Cat, that Begg made for this exhibition. Begg fans will also find her exquisite earrings and miniature paintings on offer in the Tribby shop, Serendipity, located within the Tribby Shell Point Gallery.
The galleries of Tribby Arts Center are free and open to all from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Tribby Arts Center is located at 17281 On Par Blvd. within the Coastal Commons neighborhood of Shell Point. For information, call 239-415-5667 or visit www.tribbyartscenter.com
