Serve Those Who Served: Avow Veteran Volunteer Bootcamp: Because every Veteran deserves the chance to hear “thank you” one more time. Avow, Southwest Florida’s original nonprofit hospice and a five-star We Honor Veterans partner, invites men and women who served in the U.S. Armed Forces to become Veteran volunteers. Participants will learn to conduct meaningful Veteran honor ceremonies, lead Coffee with Vets gatherings and provide companionship visits to Veteran hospice patients. Roughly a quarter of Avow patients are Veterans, and the connection between those who have worn the uniform cannot be replicated. 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 29, Avow, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
