Cellist Sterling Elliott and pianist Janice Carissa, both acclaimed for their exceptional musicianship, bring these works to life with a compelling blend of technical prowess and heartfelt interpretation. Sterling Elliott

Acclaimed for his stellar stage presence and joyous musicianship, cellist Sterling Elliott is a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and the winner of the Senior Division of the 2019 National Sphinx Competition. He has appeared with major orchestras such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and others, with noted conductors Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Thomas Wilkins, Jeffrey Kahane and Mei-Ann Chen, among others.

Fast becoming a favorite on the summer festival circuit, Elliott has appeared at Music@Menlo, Chamberfest in Cleveland and Chamberfest Northwest in Calgary, Music at Angel Fire and the La Jolla Music Society.

Elliott is pursuing an artist diploma at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick and Clara Kim, following completion of his Master of Music and undergraduate degrees at Juilliard. He is an ambassador of the Young Strings of America, a string sponsorship operated by Shar Music.

Janice Carissa

A Gilmore Young Artist and winner of Salon de Virtuosi, Janice Carissa has garnered great acclaim at renowned concert halls, including the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, United Nations and Kennedy Center, among others.

Following her debut with The Philadelphia Orchestra at age 16, Carissa substituted for André Watts as soloist with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and went on to perform with several celebrated orchestras across the U.S. Her passion for chamber music has led her to performances with Brooklyn Chamber Music Society and Jupiter Chamber Concert Series; collaborations with Vadim Gluzman, Miriam Fried, Paul Neubauer, Lucy Shelton, Jennifer Cano and Peter Wiley, among other distinguished musicians; and appearances at Marlboro, North Shore, Ravinia, Caramoor and Kneisel Hall festivals.

Carissa left Indonesia in 2013 and entered the Curtis Institute of Music with a full scholarship from Gerry and Marguerite Lenfest. She is now pursuing a master’s degree at The Juilliard School.
