Anthony Catalfano’s interior design portfolio traces a master class in coastal living: from Boston’s Back Bay along the Charles River to the seaside town of Wells, tucked between Kennebunk and Ogunquit in Maine; from the sun-washed shores of Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale to windswept residences 30 miles out to sea on Nantucket; and now, Naples—Southwest Florida’s own Gulf-front paradise. While each home takes a different direction—some read contemporary, others more traditional—they all share two distinct qualities. First: a sense of timelessness defined by high quality and classic, enduring style. And second: a refusal to chase trends. “My designs are very individual to the client,” says Catalfano, who loves rich textures and visual narratives. “If a client wants neutral, we can give them neutral, but it’s about quality fabrics, furnishings and objects you won’t see elsewhere.”

It’s this philosophy that led Catalfano to set up shop in the Naples Design District. Anthony Catalfano Curated, a retail concept that gathers his favorite finds from his travels into one thoughtfully collected space, echoes the layered sophistication of his interiors. Custom upholstery mingles with vintage furniture, lighting and collectibles. Murano glass manifests through chic chandeliers and quirky aquariums. And midcentury gems mix with 18th-century period pieces. “Everything is my favorite—that’s my problem,” he says. “That’s why I have to have a shop; otherwise it would all be in my house. I’ve always been a collector. I love to paint myself, so it started with an art collection of paintings, and it morphed into everything in the world after that.”
Yet the destination offers more than a trove of design discoveries. Open year-round to the public, it serves as an intimate introduction to Catalfano’s aesthetic, where a single object can spark a larger design conversation. Transforming what was once a raw shell, he designed each vignette to feel residential, complete with custom moldings and partitions that delineate rooms much like a home. Equal parts sophisticated, collected and tropical-with-a-twist, Curated speaks pointedly to its surroundings. “We were in a gray and beige world for so many years,” he says. “I did a little of that in here, but I also popped color. I felt we were so ready for it.”
