In each issue, we tap local design pros to share their favorite global finds. This month, Fort Myers-based Architecture Joyce Owens’ namesake founder draws from her prowess in studying and drafting modernist homes to select design objects with loads of sense of place and depth.

Salvatori Stone Surfaces
Natural stone master Salvatori takes full advantage of its Tuscan location, near the eminent Carrara quarries, to stretch the limits of marble. “I love everything they do,” Joyce says of the brand, which partners with architects and designers on a range of products. “Stone everything: wall tiles, vanity basins, mirrors accessories—even round stone hooks.” The expressive surfaces set a distinctive tone in any room, with artful finishes, colors and textures. Above, we see Salvatori’s honed Silk Georgette and the striated CNC on the walls and Stone Parquet floors, with a well-worn finish reminiscent of wooden flooring in European aristocratic homes. salvatoriofficial.com

“Can you get any cuter than these?” Joyce asks of the Mastea side table by Italian furniture producer Miniforms. Launched in the 1970s, the brand is known for its energetic, experimental furnishings with exuberant color. In Mastea, the blown glass center (with a wood base and topper) tempers the hues (available in amber, blue and gray), enhancing the versatility of these tables, which can be displayed solo or clustered into charming vignettes. “They are just the right color for any decor,” she adds. miniforms.com

Linie Design Immersed Myth Runner
A lover of all things handmade, Joyce gravitates toward Danish artisan rug maker Linie. Their Immersed Myth runner plays with pile height and density and dye variations to create a textured, fluid design, evoking the movement of water. Linie’s head of design, Royal Danish Academy-trained Urd Moll Gundermann, started her career in fashion. Her understanding of textiles shines through in this dynamic piece that would look right at home in a Gulfside hallway or hung on a sun-dappled wall as a tapestry. liniedesign.com

Piegatto Soave Chair
Piegatto’s founders, Alejandro Estrada and Sandra Ovalle, combine their training in architecture, sculpture and art restoration, along with the talents of their designer son, into striking, eco-friendly furnishings. The Guatemalan label relies on lightweight materials (aluminum, plywood) with sturdy applications to create kinetic designs in sync with nature. The Soave chair—available in a style made for outdoor use—recalls the ocean’s waves. Match it with Piegatto’s equally sinuous line of other alfresco designs, including sofas, tables and planters. “It’s a nice twist on outdoor furniture,” Joyce says. piegatto.com
