Each issue, we ask Southwest Florida designers to share the global pieces shaping their eye right now. For this edition, Glenn Midnet, founder of Naples-based Design West, selects furnishings, lighting and accents that lean tailored and subtly masculine. His picks reflect the polished, architecture-driven interiors that continue to define luxury home design in Naples and beyond.

Bento Étagère by Dakota Jackson
American furniture designer Dakota Jackson, known for his engineering-forward, avant-garde style, draws inspiration from Japan’s simple, structured forms for his Bento Collection. The Bento Étagère shelf stacks rich mahogany with polished stainless steel for a sharp contrast. “The material juxtaposition makes it feel like the large shelves are floating,” Glenn says. dakotajackson.com

Scrigno Drawers by Edra
Brazilian design duo the Campana Brothers created a suite of four reflective storage pieces for luxury Italian furniture manufacturer Edra. The Scrigno collection includes a two-door cabinet, a four-drawer chest, a seven-drawer-tall cupboard and a sideboard. Each wooden unit features a striking mosaic of layered, laser-cut mirror shards with painted metallic interiors to match. “The reflective quality gives the piece texture,” Glenn says. The unit adds interest in tandem with a subdued color palette. edra.com

Melt Desk by Cédric Ragot for Roche Bobois
Cédric Ragot’s Melt desk, created during the late French designer’s decade-long partnership with Roche Bobois, exemplifies his penchant for biomorphic design and material experimentation with its sloping form crafted from polyester fiber. The asymmetrical piece balances on a black-lacquered oak-veneer cube and a chrome-plated leg that appears to melt like magma from the tempered-glass desktop. “Masculine spaces tend to lean into structure,” Glenn says. “This piece is a great way to add in a bit of organic movement.” roche-bobois.com
