I go to the gym most days and typically do the same routine. Someone told me I should switch it up; otherwise, I’ll get diminished results. Is this true? —Phillip S., Bonita Springs
Jon Bates, owner of Addicted to Fitness in Naples, says: What happens is the exercise becomes less effective because the body adapts. So then we need to change it up. For example, on a treadmill, change the speed or change the incline. When you’re going to the gym, you’re not there to be comfortable. You want to challenge the body. Once you feel too comfortable, you need to change.
