Handmade design is reshaping Southwest Florida—driven by artists, artisans and independent makers working in wood, metal, stone and clay. The movement sparked our August issue theme: Made in Southwest Florida.
When we began planning the cover, one name kept coming up. While most know Cocoon for its sleek gallery on Fifth Avenue South in Naples, the brand also operates a 25,000-square-foot woodshop in the Naples Design District, where salvaged roots and raw geodes are shaped into sculptural forms. The setting inspired our stylist to lean into material-driven pieces from craft-conscious masters like Brunello Cucinelli and Silvia Tcherassi, paired with earth-toned textures and handworked details for elemental elegance.
