Among the season’s many gifts, there’s one that carries special meaning: the Naples Shore Bag, an exclusive design from The Real Macaw. An East Naples icon for more than three decades, the restaurant partnered with the Colombian woman-owned label Apaya for the design.
Siobhan Cleveland, who took over her parents’ restaurant in 2021 after a career in New York’s fashion scene, wanted to create a piece that linked Naples’ coastal ease with Apaya’s intricate Andean weaving traditions. Handwoven from iraca palm, the petite, structured silhouette features a subtle “Naples” embroidery in tonal weave—an elegant take on hometown pride.
Beyond its craftsmanship, the collaboration uplifts women at every level: Apaya’s female artisans in Colombia and, closer to home, the Shelter for Abused Women & Children, which receives a portion of proceeds from each sale. “It’s about women supporting women,” Siobhan says.
