With the right combination of products, your bathroom can feel like an at-home spa. These locally made formulas use natural scents that put you at ease and nourishing ingredients that elevate the daily chore to a ritual.
Former paramedic and firefighter Beth Valle helms The Wallflower Shoppe’s nature-centric home goods and beauty products in Cape Coral. She recommends spritzing their eucalyptus Shower Mist ($25) into a warm shower for an effective aromatherapy treatment. The refreshing scent helps open up airways and eases tension. “It helps clear your mind,” Beth says.
Crafted in Bonita Springs, Cleansing Essentials’ organic bar soaps soften as they clean, with coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil, extra-virgin olive oil and phthalate-free fragrances. For a detoxifying boost, lather up with their activated charcoal-infused Black Rose Organic Bar Soap ($10).
EcoWave Naples’ vitamin-E-infused Naples Sunset Body Scrub ($16) relies on sugar as a simple, effective exfoliant. Owner Simge Tunali built the brand on a sustainable refill model, reducing packaging waste by replenishing used containers at farmers’ markets or through local pickup and delivery.
The Skin Room founder, licensed medical aesthetician Erica Current, uses her Berry Silk Shower Oil ($30) as an alternative to shaving cream. A part of her Body by The Skin Room line, the hydrating blend of sweet almond, hemp seed, avocado and marula oils allows the razor to glide with ease. “That’ll minimize irritation and leave you feeling silky afterward,” Erica says.
For satin skin that lasts all day, massage in a few pumps of Azul Skin Health’s Revitalizing Body Oil ($60), formulated by husband-wife duo Drs. Kristen and Patrick Flaharty in Fort Myers’ Trilogy Laboratories. The antiaging treatment uses plankton extract to reduce cellulite and stretch marks.
The final step is a restorative Body Balm Cream ($40) from Sanibel Island’s Seagrape Botanicals. Medical esthetician Parker Cornelius and retired board-certified dermatologist Dr. Benjamin Yokel built the line around skin-barrier-protecting ceramides and seagrape leaf extract, a natural hydration magnet that seals in moisture. “Prevention and protection are key,” Parker says.
