The Faces of Freedom
Human trafficking is the second largest criminal enterprise in the world, and Florida consistently ranks third nationally in reported cases of sex trafficking. Tragically, children are among the most vulnerable targets. Only 34 licensed safe house beds exist for long-term, trauma-informed care in Florida, and Path2Freedom, Inc., a Southwest Florida nonprofit, provides 10 of those.
“Every child deserves safety, dignity, the chance to heal, and the freedom to dream,” says Ana Stevenson, who founded the organization in 2015 alongside her husband Jon. They launched Path2Freedom’s Magnolia Model of care to provide hope and healing for rescued adolescent female survivors.
